Spot, a G-spot vibrator by Kiiroo

Please read this paragraph carefully before reviewing

This review was originally written in May 2024 with a model that was only in beta version, for internal feedback only.
It was a model not yet destined for the market. Kiiroo needed external feedback in order to propose an improved version.
The version now on the market has been completely reworked and revised. It took them over six months to make the various improvements that have resulted in the final product. A different product to the one presented in this review.
So take my opinions with a grain of salt!

I’d understood that Kiiroo were working on another type of product when I first heard about the Spot. It was confidential, of course, and no names were given during the discussion. My command of English led me to think that it must be a Magic Wand version of Kiiroo🦊. Lost!

Today, it’s a G-spot stimulator that Kiiroo has made available to us. Whether you want to use it alone, share remote control with your partner or use it during a show cam… All these possibilities are open to you.

In the shape of an egg with a comma, the Spot reminds me of the Lush by Lovense, the Esca by OhMyBod, the PhoenixNeo by Svakom, the Jive by We Vibe… I don’t have any experience of the toys I’ve just mentioned, so I won’t make any comparisons, but let’s take a closer look at the Spot.

Receipt of parcel

I had a discussion about the Spot at the beginning of April with Kiiroo’s Community Manager. Did Wifey and I agree to write a review of their future toy? Of course we were! Especially as I still thought it was a magic wand that I’m dying to try out… Ever since I discovered the Pulse Solo Interactive🦊, I’ve been very interested in vibrating toys. And as a bonus, I thought I could use my Wonder Eggs from Tenga🦊 on the vibrator head…. Excitement was at an all-time high!

And so, a week later, I received an email announcing the dispatch of a parcel… Only to have the postman deliver the parcel two hours later. Even Amazon Prime doesn’t do that well! Well, I suppose you can’t really rely on the time taken to receive this email for once.

So I took the parcel to Wifey and we opened it together just to see what it was… And so it’s the Spot! I go back up to my office to take the photos.

Package of the Spot

Contents of the box

Contents of the Spot box

The box itself

Not that I want to go into too much detail on a simple box… But the box is made from cardboard that’s thick enough to protect the toy if it’s dropped.

Inside the box, you’ll find various items such as the quick start guide, the Spot and a charging cable. The latter is located behind a cardboard support that holds the Spot in position in its box.

Spot

The object of your desires, or at least the object of this review.

I’ll go into more detail later, so be patient!

Quick start guide

At the time of writing this review, the product is not yet available to the general public.

Although it’s only a matter of hours, this has prevented me from accessing some of the resources in this quick start guide (but I did have access to those documents elsewhere).

The first thing to do is to fully charge your Spot. To do this, nothing could be simpler than using the magnetic charger supplied. At least if you have an AC adapter that supports USB 2.

Next, start it up and log on to the Kiiroo website to find out how to connect to the Spot.

Finally, depending on your use (live webcam or personal use), two guides are available to help you get the most out of this toy.

Charging cable

Spot magnetic charging cable

This cable is 80 centimetres long. It has a conventional USB 2 male end and a second flared end with two metal protuberances.

This second part is magnetised and will be magnetically positioned at the tail of the Spot.

This magnetic loading is a solution common to many sex toy manufacturers, enabling them to offer waterproof toys. This means that the Spot can even be used in the bath without the slightest problem.

However, this magnetic device tends to detach quite easily if there’s too much tension in the cable. Twice, I thought the Spot was charging when the cable had fallen to the ground.

Spot

According to Kiiroo, the Spot is in the shape of a comma and comes in three colours : Loving Lilac, Ocean Blue and Kiss Me Pink.

Image from Kiiroo showing the three Spot colours available

The outer layer is made of soft silicone🦊 described as body-friendly. Inside, the motor is protected by a layer of ABS, a harder material (like the Legos you may have stepped on as a child…. Or if your kids leave them lying around).

The whole thing weighs no more than 65 grams and measures 10 centimetres for the insertable part. All in all, if you extend it, it measures around 22 centimetres, but that’s not necessarily the most interesting measurement.

Noise generated by the toy

Apart from that, the Spot’s audio measurements are quite good, with average use at 48dB and maximum use at 64dB, even though it’s not in use. It is clearly silent.

Once in position, I didn’t take any further measurements… I couldn’t see myself saying to Wifey: “Hang on, I’m going to put a microphone up to your vagina to check the noise it makes”.

At low vibrations, the toy was silent. I couldn’t hear it, but my wife told me that the vibrations weren’t that present either. It could help but it’s not enough on its own. When used with medium vibrations, you can hear the toy slightly, but you have to be fairly close. If you’re into ‘public play’, the toy will be discreet enough. On the other hand, when you use strong vibrations, you can hear it. Afterwards, we were in a quiet bedroom, the children were asleep… In a street with traffic noise and so on, it wouldn’t sound the same.

But all that to say that this toy is very quiet, or at least when it’s inserted.

Clarification on the battery

It took me a while to understand that when the Spot is switched on, it flashes one of three colours: green, orange and red. As you’ll quickly realise, this is the percentage of battery remaining. However, it took me a while to figure it out… So I might as well share it straight away.

When you charge it, the coloured ring will go from red, to orange, to yellow, to flashing green and finally to a steady green, indicating the end of the charge. Well, that’s the theory. With the steady green, I only had 92% battery, so I think it switches to steady above 90%.

On another charge/discharge test, I found myself leaving the Spot to charge overnight only to find that in the morning it was still showing a green flicker and only 88% battery. How could it not be fully charged overnight? Half an hour later, it showed 89% battery. After that, I didn’t see a steady green light after the Spot had been charged.

The battery is claimed to last 3 hours in full use. In the tests I carried out (using maximum power continuously with light via a custom pattern) the battery lasted 170 minutes! So 2 hours and 50 minutes… Which is very close to what is indicated. But be warned, it vibrated all the way through and coloured all the way through.

This means that for personal use, unless you vibrate hard for 3 hours, it will last several sessions. And for a webcam show, it doesn’t vibrate all the time so it can last longer without needing to recharge.

Initialisation of the Spot

Before going any further, it is more than advisable to update the Spot’s firmware. But before you do that, you need to load the new companion as much as possible.

This will ensure that any minor software bugs encountered during testing are corrected. That your Spot will be in the best possible condition for you.

Here, in a few images, is what your first connection to the FeelConnect application will look like (download links android ios).

So after downloading FeelConnect (or at least, for those who don’t have it yet), you’ll have this

Ha no… That’s just for me… FeelConnect had been updated, but bad luck, it wasn’t enough. I had to uninstall and reinstall the application.

After that, FeelConnect will naturally suggest that you update the firmware version for Spot. The latest version available is 22.

Personal use

The Spot is intended for vaginal use. When I was offered the test, it wasn’t actually offered to me… But to Wifey because I don’t have a vagina. So yes, she can test it… And keep it if she wants. But I’d like to test it too. A bit jealous, you say?

But be careful! Any anal toy worthy of the name must have a sufficiently secure base to prevent the toy from being sucked inside. For example, for an anal plug, a T-shaped base is highly recommended. This toy doesn’t have a suitable base. However, the Spot’s tail is long enough to avoid having all of it inside… unless you do it on purpose. And you don’t have to insert it all the way in, just the ovoid shape. What’s more, we’ve already seen where Lush goes in some webcam shows… Just because others do it doesn’t mean it’s any good, but whatever. I wanted to try it out, but to hell with it!

But wherever it goes, it shouldn’t go without lubricant! Whether it’s to improve the body’s natural lubrication or to make sexual activity more comfortable, to get a better feel for the sensations on offer or anything else, lubricant is your ally.

Lubricant

In this particular case, that of silicone toys, I strongly advise you to use a water-based lubricant – don’t try to do otherwise. However, you need to be careful.

Water-based lubricants have two particularities that need to be checked in particular: pH and osmolality.

The pH, as you probably know, must be respected to avoid upsetting the local flora and the risk of infection. However, you may be less familiar with the term osmolality. Roughly speaking, this is the capacity of an aqueous liquid to absorb or release the water it contains. In your cells. So, in extreme cases, it can dry them out or give them so much water that the membranes can crack. As you may have guessed, this is another risk of infection.

I’ll have to continue with a more substantial article on the subject, but these are the values you should be looking for. The pH of the vagina is 4.5 and that of the anus between 5.5 and 7. As you can see, in the best-case scenario, you’ll need two different lubricants for these two practices. As for osmolality, it should be between 380 and 1200 mOsm/kg.

In any case, if your lubricant supplier can’t give you the pH of the lubricant, beware (run away?). Osmolality is also important, but very few people know what they’re doing… Even Kiiroo, who have been waiting for an answer from their manufacturer since the beginning of 2024!

Switching the Spot on and off, changing modes

To switch the Spot on or off, press the multi-tasking button for 4 or 5 seconds. It will then flash to indicate the state of its battery and switch to Bluetooth mode. This is where it flashes blue.

A single press on the multi-task button will turn it purple, indicating pause mode.

Offline mode

Your Spot can be used without any application. Admittedly, you first need to update its firmware. But once you’ve done that, there’s no need for a phone or internet connection to use it.

It has six ready-to-use modes:

  • low and regular vibration 53 dB
  • constant medium vibration 59 dB
  • constant high vibration 60 dB
  • model 1 (lively beat) 62 dB
  • model 2 (Sine Wave) 58-61 dB
  • model 3 (wave) 56-60 dB

The measurements were taken in a room with an ambient sound level of 28 dB with a microphone about ten centimetres away.

Unlike Lovense toys, these levels are not adjustable. This is something I already complained about with the Pearl3, which Wifey found too powerful. However, on the Spot, her first comment was that it was quiet and not too loud. That’s a good point! The vibrations are better balanced between levels.

For my part, using such simple patterns isn’t enough to really stimulate me. It doesn’t matter where it stimulates. It’s a basis on which to build something, but it’s not enough.

For these six modes, you’ll have a white LED that progresses to a different level of the ring.

With FeelConnect

FeelConnect Device informations

FeelConnect is the official Kiiroo application that will allow you to do various things, some useful and others… Because as far as I’m concerned, I don’t go looking for Kiiroo or FeelConnect news via this application, but whatever.

So as we were saying, there are different possibilities with this application. Whether it’s a question of conversing in text or audio-visual format with ‘friends’ and sharing control of your interactive toy with them. Or the possibility of adding access to different media (sites) that will interact with your sextoy via your phone. There’s also the far more interesting option of controlling your toy live.

Friends

FeelConnect “Friend” tab offline.

This interface lists the various contacts you have and the chat history (at least as long as you don’t change phones).

You can have a text conversation with someone or start a camera-to-camera chat. You can also choose to share control of the sex toy or toys currently connected to the application.

To give control of a toy of your choice, simply click on the little plus in the top right-hand corner and confirm with the blue button that appears. Stop sharing by pressing the blue button again.

For the person receiving the control, you have access to a gauge (black on a black background in my case) enabling you to manage the intensity of the vibrations. Sliding the gauge up will increase the intensity of the vibrations, sliding it down will decrease them.

To chat, all you have to do is enter the text in the box at the bottom of the screen, and to video chat, the button at the top right is just the thing.

However, you can’t send photos… To do that, you’ll need to use another program.

Media

Empty “Media” tab on FeelConnect.

To connect to certain sites, simply scan a QR Code and the link will be made between your computer, phone and sextoy.

The procedure is explained here, on the Connect2Feel website. As far as I’m concerned, I’m not a fan at all, because it’s complicated to know when the link is really established or not…

I tested this with the Spot and even though I had added a site and it was indicated on FeelConnect that I was “connected” (both to the toy and to the site), nothing happened with the Spot.

Controls

Control tab of the Spot

This is the control tower, where you can choose different ways of interacting with your toy. Let’s take a closer look.

Touch Control

This means you can choose both the intensity and the frequency of the pattern.

Below 20%, the motor does not engage. Then, the higher you go in the percentages, the faster the wave. On the right-hand side, you have three zones that allow you to modify the intensity of the vibrations. I’d have preferred a two-axis control to manage the same thing, but FeelConnect doesn’t offer that.

It’s also possible to share control of the sextoy via the blue button symbolising a Bluethooth with an arrow. From there, you can choose a duration of up to 24 hours so that a link is generated. Then you’re free to put the link on a social network or similar so that someone else can control your toy.

Patterns

Here you can create patterns that you can then play back. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do: waves of varying length, intensity, pauses… And then you can replay these patterns ad infinitum. So if you’ve had enough fun with the previous mode, you’ll be able to build something tailor-made.

As with other competitors such as Lovense, it would have been interesting to be able to share these patterns. Unfortunately, the FeelConnect application is not evolving much (if at all) and this need, which dates back several years, is still not taken into account.

It would be nice to be able to rummage through a public pattern library to find what you’re looking for.

I haven’t tested recording patterns longer than 5 minutes, I haven’t found a way to rename them, reorder them… However, you can play them in a loop and delete them.

Noise control

Controlling the Spot in relation to ambient noise

In this section, you can select a noise level at which the toy will start to vibrate. First press the blue “On” button. Then, depending on where you place the red line (with the up and down buttons), your toy will vibrate if the noise passes above this line.

You can select the intensity with the gauge on the right, just like in ‘Touch Control’ mode.

It might be a nice touch when you’re listening to music… Maybe you can think of other ways of using it, but I find this mode very gimmicky.

Well, I’m being a spoilsport here, but it gave Wifey and I a good laugh, and the Spot went wild!

Local connection
Local connection from Spot to Keon

Here you can connect one of your devices to another, or even several.

To do this, the main device needs to have sensory sensors. This is not the case with the Spot, which can only track. However, you can connect a Keon to one side, with the Spot to follow. Or perhaps even a Pearl3, which would take over the Spot’s direction. I haven’t tested this combo…

Via a third-party site

It works for the Keon (sometimes for some), the Pulse Solo Interactive, the Lumen… So it should work for the Spot too although…. Fundamentally, I don’t know. As long as this sextoy isn’t officially on sale, it hasn’t yet been integrated with buttplug.io, a library that allows each interactive sextoy to be controlled via a script.

This allows you to use sites such as the late bukkake.moe or currently faptap.net.

Paired with another sextoy

As mentioned earlier, the Spot has no sensors. It’s not capable of knowing what’s going on in order to give instructions, it can only receive them (possibly via the multi-purpose button).

I tried pairing the Keon with the Spot. The Keon leads the way, the Spot follows.

To do this, you need two phones, two FeelConnect accounts, start a chat between the two accounts and give each other control of the toys.

The Keon can then use the speed buttons to influence the intensity of the Spot. Oh yeah o/

And the Spot can… well, we said it before. Receive.

Well that’s not so bad, you can still use the Keon’s other buttons to manage your own speed and depth of penetration. Well no, sorry…

Appearing the Spot on the Keon is not the idea of the century! If you want to use this feature, perhaps other pairs of toys would work better… But this is a big disappointment (at least for those who have the Keon).

Note that it works well with the Pearl3!

Professional use (Webcaming orientation)

For the sake of readability, I’ve decided to move this part to another post.

You can read it here: Using your Kiiroo connected sextoy on a camsite🦊.

First impressions of Wifey

Noise and vibration

As mentioned above, when she first set up the Spot, she found it to be silent. Once it’s in place, the noise level is very low, as long as the vibrations are low to medium.

When used internally, the results were mixed. It’s good, but she would have liked the vibrations to be stronger. The low vibrations gave her the impression of having gurgles in her stomach. Externally, to stimulate the clitoris, the medium vibrations were quite sufficient, and she told me that the toy could make her come in less than a minute.

Bluetooth connectivity

Unfortunately, there were major connection problems with the FeelConnect application. The Bluetooth range didn’t exceed 20 centimetres, leading to numerous disconnections and even total disconnection. However, this isn’t the first toy with which this has happened. So we laughed about the fact that Wifey might have a Faraday cage (or Faraday pussy) instead of a vagina.

This severely limits the interactive possibilities. You can’t use it in the bath and control it from the phone or remotely, and you have to control it in 69 as far as I’m concerned because otherwise the phone was too far away to pick up the signal… It’s simple, if she held her phone to her chest, the toy would go from an “OK” state to a “no signal” state.

Using an application to qualify/quantify a Bluetooth signal, we confirmed the problem. Strangely enough, the signal was perceived as stronger when the legs were close together than when the legs were apart.

We talked about this to Kiiroo and they are investigation on that matter.

Pre-recorded patterns

For her, the patterns are too mechanical, too repetitive and therefore… boring. On the other hand, it would have been welcome to be able to push a custom pattern from FeelConnect to the toy, which would have greatly improved the ‘offline’ mode.

Because of this connectivity problem, there was no ‘real’ test with interactive content.

Miscellaneous

On a small step, Madame was able to confirm that there was no problem walking with the Spot in place. It stays in position.

The Spot did not give her the urge to urinate as happens when she uses the Lovense🦊 Dolce.

Clean the Spot

Simple cleaning

The Spot is very easy to clean. At least, if you use a water-based lubricant, as I recommended. If you’ve opted for a silicone- or oil-based lubricant… You risk destabilising the composition of the material and/or having major problems cleaning it effectively. But since you’ve used a water-based lubricant, everything’s fine.

You can clean it with warm water and soap. This combo has been working miracles for over 4,500 years thanks to the Sumerians, so we can go on.

The soap will take care of removing the lubricant and other body fluids, and its antibacterial function also helps.

Of course, you can also use Kiiroo’s ‘Pure‘ product to clean your toy, which is what they recommend… but the result will be the same. Pure adds a sweet scent of Tea Tree and Lavender ;).

All that’s left to do is dry the Spot (preferably with a lint-free cloth) and store it in its cover and storage box.

Sterilisation

The Spot is made in one piece on the outside, apart from the two metal protrusions for recharging. Unfortunately, due to the presence of electronics, it is not advisable to put the Spot in the dishwasher or in a pan of boiling water to sterilise it.

If you need to disinfect the Spot, to lend it to a friend, sell it or because it’s been lying around somewhere (if only in your lap), there is a solution. You can soak it in a 10% solution of bleach or 70% isopropyl alcohol for 10-15 minutes. Give the liquid time to do its job, then rinse and leave to dry in the open air.

Availability

The Spot is available from today, XX May 2024, and will soon be available in a number of online shops, but I suggest you buy it directly from the manufacturer: Kiiroo.

Why should you do that? Firstly, because you can take advantage of a 10% discount by using the code “PapaRenard” when validating your order. Secondly, because it’s the best way of getting quality after-sales service (or at least much better than a simple reseller).

The Spot is priced at €XX (so €ZZ with the discount).

Conclusion

Pros

  • Soft vibrations, great for a first toy
  • Battery life satisfactory for a private user
  • Egg shape for easy introduction

Cons

  • Difficulty changing modes
  • Charging cable can become disconnected
  • Weak pairing with other brand toys
  • Major Bluetooth connection problems on the model received

In my introduction I mentioned Lush by Lovense, Esca by OhMyBod, PhoenixNeo by Svakom, Jive by We Vibe… Toys that I don’t have. So if I were to compare them to the Spot, I’d only be able to dwell on the visual. I might as well stay away! But if you want to try an alternative to these brands, here’s one more.

The Spot, while I’m on the subject of visuals, is still soft. Whether in its shape or its low vibrations, it has everything it takes to be an ally of choice. On the other hand, I’m not convinced that it can be used via FeelConnect. And this is based on a concern about connectivity as well as the application. This application should evolve to offer bi-directional management of the toy. The power of the vibrations, of course, but also – and since you can only play on a wave pattern – the length of the vibrations. More or less short, more or less long.

The battery life is more than satisfactory, and you only need less than two hours to fully recharge it (well, 94% according to FeelConnect, I’ve never been able to exceed that level).

The multicoloured LED ring doesn’t do much for a private user, apart from the ‘Houlala’ effect it may have for a partner or the person receiving a photo. Even if it did amuse Wifey for five minutes with the colour changes.

In the end, our opinion is mixed on the interactive part, but as an offline toy it has a lot to offer.
