Review of the Power of Love by Love. Not War.

It’s inaccurate to say that the Power of Love 🛒 from Love. not War. 🦊 is a sextoy in its own right. It’s a base that allows you, afterwards, to screw on different heads that will help bring you to orgasm. You could almost say it’s just an accessory… if it wasn’t indispensable.

The Power of Love is like the tip of your multifunction screwdriver. You can add one of the eight heads to transform it into different types of sex toy for different types of stimulation.

A multi-functional sextoy base, that’s how you’d best describe this Power of Love that I want to present to you today, along with the Liebe🦊review.

Let’s discover together what, for me, is a step forward in sextoy design. Together, we can take a step towards making our sex toys more environmentally friendly.

Power of Love

Coffret du Power of Love de Love. not War.

Quite frankly, when you see it like this, you’re probably wondering why I’m bothering to write an article about it. In the photo above, all you can see is a screw-in cylinder… Is it important to detail it and explain how it works? In my opinion, yes, especially if it’s the basis for eight different possible sex toys. I’d also like to pay tribute to the excellent design of this control centre for Love. not War sex toys.

Made from recycled aluminium (in a production plant powered by green energy), this base is the heart of your toy. A base that will allow you to adapt one of the eight usable heads. Because it’s as easy to use as: screw a neo-silicone head on, press a button and… enjoy. I won’t really go back over the term ‘neo-silicone’… At least not here, I’ll come back to it in my review of the Liebe. Just remember that it’s a healthy type of silicone, so it’s good for the body, but it’s also compatible with a silicone-based lubricant.

Receipt of parcel

The first discussions with Love. not War. took place at the very beginning of 2024. Time enough to get some information about the brand (previously), talk to them and understand the project. Because more than just a sextoy designer, it’s a real project that they’ve set up. Barely two hours after I sent them my first email, I got a response.

And things went quickly. On 17 January 2024, the order was placed for delivery on 19 January. Wow! That’s more than quick! Except that… Since it’s from the UK, and there’s been a Brexit and all the other goodies in favour of the unfree movement of goods… We had to go through customs.

This cost €13.60, which will be deducted from your order if you don’t live directly in that country. It’s not a lot of money (or the English Channel in this case), but it’s something to know.

What’s more, even though we’ve crossed the Channel as far as I’m concerned, Love. not War. makes a point of seeking carbon-neutral delivery for all orders, thanks to its other actions, which are not insignificant.

The set

360° view of the Power of Love box set

I’m going to say a few words about the boxed set of this sextoy, because it’s the right thing to do…

Love. not War. will make its sex toys and packaging as much as possible from recycled, sustainable materials that are not harmful to the environment (or the user). The ink used on toy packaging is soy-based. The materials used are manufactured locally.

The packaging, the box, reminds me of my younger days when I learned how to make a dice pattern. It’s just a piece of cardboard, carefully designed to fit together when folded correctly. The cardboard is recycled, 100% eco-friendly and FSC-certified. Inside, the product is held in place with die-cut paper to protect it.

There’s a huge amount of information in this box, and even more inside!

Information on the outside of the box

Face extérieure du coffret déplié du Power of Love de Love. not War.

I’m going to detail the different sides of this box from left to right, if there’s anything interesting to say about them.

The first allows you to name the different toys in the range. As usual, if there’s a 🛒, it’s a link to the shop. If there’s a 🦊, it’s because I had the opportunity to review the toy, so it’s a link to the review. So there are the Amore🛒, Kama🛒, Laska🛒, Liebe🦊, Meile🛒, Grá🛒, Maya🛒and finally Koi🛒.

Then there’s the white label indicating that the ‘Power of Love’ is the beating heart that drives each of their products. The part incorporating the battery, as well as the control, via a button used to switch on, off and toggle between different modes. There’s also a mention of neo-silicone, but I won’t go into that here. This product is advertised as having a two-year warranty.

The following is just a reminder that the Love. not War. brand products are sold in two parts, the base being the Power of Love and a head, like the Liebe. So don’t think that if you buy just one box you’ll get both parts.

The last side features a visual of the Power of Love, 7 centimetres high and 2.25 centimetres in diameter. The heads are sold separately, and a QR code takes you to the product page.

Information inside the box

The first part is a quick-start guide. It explains how to switch on (press the button), switch off (press the button for 3 seconds) and charge the device. You’ll learn that two hours of charging will give you a steady LED and an hour of use, with the LED flashing when there’s only 10% of the battery left. Of the ten patterns, the first four can be used to manage different power levels. The next six will be used in pairs to manage waves, sawtooth and slots.

The next side explains in words what was previously explained in pictures. It also explains how to clean the toy (especially the head) and the product’s technical specifications. The silicone used is a body-safe grade validated by the FDA. It is possible to use silicone-based lubricant and is IP67 (can go in water up to one metre deep). There are various safety warnings, such as not to use these toys during pregnancy or just after giving birth.

Love. not War. can take back used Power of Love products for recycling. Please do not throw them away with your household rubbish. A two-year guarantee is available from the date of purchase, and the email address for contacting support and a QR code are provided.

Power of Love

Power of Love through a 360° view

It’s a piece of recycled aluminium in the shape of a cylinder. And the brand’s promise is that this cylinder alone can power the entire range of Love. not War products.

A single battery for eight different heads, each offering a different level of stimulation.

The ecological footprint is reduced, as is the cost to the buyer. It’s also easier to ‘repair’ your sextoy at the end of its life, by changing just one part.

What’s more, thanks to its “internal” recharging system, the Power of Love, with its appropriate head, is completely waterproof. So you can enjoy it in the shower or bath without any worries.

Storage bag

Sac de rangement pour conserver votre Power of Love avec son chargeur.

So now I’m stumped. I don’t know how this storage bag was sourced and whether or not we’re still using soy ink… But this rectangular bag, measuring 21×10 cm, will allow you to store the Power of Love with any of the heads you order with it. In my case, the Liebe.

It also allows you to put the USB charger inside, something we should have done with Madame. Did you notice the use of the conditional tense? Yeah, I did. We didn’t manage that one…

This bag is made from tencel (lyocell), which is obtained from wood pulp and a non-toxic solvent. It’s an eco-friendly material that you might know as vegetable silk.

USB charger

Ce n’est malheureusement pas le chargeur officiel… Mais j’avais de quoi le remplacer

Unfortunately, after eight months, I find myself unable to get my hands on the official🛒 chargeragain. Luck or not, I have a tendency to keep quite a few things (and put them away), ‘just in case’. So in about twenty minutes, I was able to get my hands on a compatible charger, and three to be honest.

The original charger is a USB cable. Unfortunately, I’m going to fail in all my duties by not being able to provide you with the length of it. Having lost it and not having recovered this data before…

But then, on the one hand you have USB-B, on the other you have a DC socket, a cylindrical socket.

In the end, it took me 1 hour 45 minutes to fully charge the battery, instead of the two hours I was told it would take. On the other hand, discharging in the fourth mode took 1 hour 35 minutes instead of the hour I was told it would take. Quite frankly, it’s almost like charging takes as long as discharging, which is great!

Maintenance

As you probably know, all sextoys need to be cleaned before they are used for the first time. The Power of Love is no exception, as it is an integral part of the sextoy, even though it should not be inserted itself.

It is not recommended to clean the Power of Love without a properly screwed-on head. Once you’ve made sure this is the case, all you need is a little warm water and neutral soap.

It is forbidden to use alcohol, petrol or acetone-based products.

Once washed and free of fluids, simply rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth.

Use

To use the Power of Love, simply attach the male screw-on parts of the Power of Love to the female part of the head.

Start by presenting the two parts to each other (obtain consent 😉 ), insert one part into the other and then turn clockwise until it stops.

Then all you have to do is use a lubricant, potentially water-based but… Indulge yourself with a real silicone-based lubricant, for once it’s allowed! I recommend Ãœberlube🦊in particular but others are possible, such as Encore +🦊.

After that… I won’t go into more detail here, just have a look at the Liebe review for example.

First impressions

Since the Power of Love is the heart of the sextoy, its battery and control centre, I can still provide some information.

First of all, the Power of Love alone won’t light up, you have to put a head on it… But with the Liebe, in a vacuum, the decibels fluctuated between 42 and 52 dB maximum. Personally, I think it’s pretty quiet.

The Power of Love is, as I said, made of aluminium, so its contact is soft and even, and the only difference is in the push button. It weighs just 47 grams, which is about a third of the final weight of the vibrator.

Availability

Power of Love 🛒 has now been available for a few months. At the end of March 2024, on the 28th to be precise.

One size fits all, and the price will stay that way too: €49.99.

Be careful with the codes, I’ve found several but they don’t work very intuitively. WELCOME5 will give you a 10% discount on your basket. WELCOME10 or AW10 will reduce the price of the heads by around 10%. After that, the aim is for you to make savings, not necessarily for it to be easy to understand.

How about something simpler? The only real code to remember is LRT20, which gives you 20% off! Simple and effective.

Conclusion

Points positifs

  • Sextoy écologique
  • Durable dans le temps !
  • Rechargement efficace de la batterie
  • Teinte rose argentée appréciable

Points négatifs

  • J’aurai préféré une prise USB-C.

The Power of Love is more of an accessory than a sextoy in itself. It’s the battery, the control centre, but on its own, it’s useless.

However, I already feel that the Power of Love is a solid foundation and Love. not War. shows its commitment to the environment through a product that has been properly thought through. What’s more, a new tree is planted with every purchase.

The only drawback for me is the DC port, which would have benefited so much from being replaced by a USB-C port. But perhaps that would make the whole thing too fragile.

In any case, if you haven’t already done so, get cracking by reading the Liebe🦊review!
